What do you need to do?

Unless a hack installer has destroyed the factory plugs, you can buy adapters to install your stuff, and then you don't need to know the factory colors.

I am going to replace my radio with a different Delco one. Would like to know what to expect. Original wiring is in car 87 IROC
to a 89 Delco radio.

There are basically two different wiring harnesses for Camaro/Firebirds.... '88-down and '89-up. The '89-up also has a smaller, unique antenna plug.

Depending on where you're getting your other Delco deck....other GM cars changed plug styles in different years.

If your replacement deck has the same old-style plug, just plug it in and all will work.

If you want to install a new-style radio in your car, there is an adapter available at the dealer, but I'm not sure as to the cost. Or you could buy a female aftermarket adapter for your car, and cut the male harness out of a new-style GM car at a junkyard. Or, go to Best Buy, where they stock both the male and female plugs.

There's also an adapter for the antenna, which you can get aftermarket almost anyplace, or maybe from the GM dealer too.
