For 500, I'll sell you my 2 Pheonix Golds, and an old Rockford Amp.... with the custom box I built for the camaro.....

But otherwise, I'd check ebay!

$500 isn't a lot of money for that much equipment. $500 will get you a good amp for some 12s. I'd say that if that's your budget, look for quality instead of quantity. Consider getting a single 10" or 12" sub and a good amp. A Kicker ZR240 will run you about $350 with a crossover, which leaves $150 for a nice sub. Any amp smaller than that would be worthless on a pair of 12s, and any 12s cheaper than that are worthless regardless of the amp. Doing it this way gets you good equipment, and you can always add the 2nd sub later.

What's up Jim?

I have a ZR240 with the SWX sub crossover for sale like Jim mentioned for $200 plus shipping. That will leave you with $300 for a sub, or subs. The new Kicker '01 Comp VR 10's would work great off the ZR240 in small vented enclosures. And they can be had for around $100 or so each.

Let me know.......

Is that something that I should follow up on with a call or letter? I had planned to do that before, but then I decided to take the job back home. Well, now I'm ready to *ahem* start looking again.

So are the kicker comp VR which are about 100 each not a good buy? I was thinking about getting one maybe two...

I don't know. I haven't had any experience with the Kicker stuff recently. I only sold Kicker up until around 1998, and their subwoofer lineup has changed considerably since then.

I listened 2 them at Circuit City and at Best Buy, but in Summit you can order 2 Sony Xplod 10's for $119.95, 2 12's for $139.95, or 2 15's for $229.95. I've listened to the 12's and I think they sound good. You can get the Xplod 760W amp for $199.95. If you get it then you have $300 for subs. I'd wait around til Circuit City or Best Buy has a special on their subs. They have one at least once or twice a month. I got 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch 12's for $129.95, at the same time they had a sale on 2 Kenwood 12's (those blue tornado ones) for $129.95. Then I picked up a 100.2 RF Punch amp for $150 It's not much but it sounds great inside the car because my box it angled up towards the glass. People are like man I can't hear it it sux. My bass isn't for them though so I don't care haha. I'm about to get a bigger amp so I'm not worried about it. Hope this helps.

I put a set of 12" sony explode subs in my buddies Monte. They dont sound too bad for the money. Then again my single 10W6 sounds just as loud w/ better SQ. You may want to save up and get some nice stuff, but if you cant then buy the sonys and get em in a nice sealed box.
peace
