New amp time--any opinions?

I have a single JL12W0 4ohm in a sealed box. Right now, I have a Crossfire CFA202 amp, rated at about 170-180 watts RMS. I think I'm going to sell it to my brother and get a new amp. I was considering Rockford, Eclipse, and Kicker. I was just wanting some opinions as to what people have to say about each one, and which models I should be looking at. Should I get one with more power than I have now? Right now, my gain is only about 2/3 of the way up, because any more than that causes distortion. I don't know if it's the fact that the sub just can't handle more than that, or that the signal from the amp isn't very clean above that gain setting. I know the JL's are rated at 125 watts, but I also know that some people put way more power to them than that. If a new amp won't get me anything over the one I have now, I'll just keep it. All opinions are appreciated.

I really don't think your gonna get much more out of that sub.

You need to double your power to just get a 3db increase. While 3 db is noticable, I don't think it's worth doing. Not unless you were gonna swap the sub out for something that can play louder as well.

I'd stick to the crossfire.

I'm lovin the output I'm getting from my Kicker ZX240 mated to a single Kicker CompVR 10" (sealed)... both rated for 300watts and matched impedances so they're perfect for each other. I'd have to back everybody elses opinion that Kicker underrates they're amps, so it'd be a fine choice.
