Pioneer Spare Tire Subwoofer

Has anyone had experience with this? I'm not looking for a super loud system, just a little added umph to my music. Is this worth it?

Hey,

If your not lookin for much then it would be ok. I thought it was sort of expensive. I wouldnt go for it though. Where are you gonna put it? In a 3rd gen. It would take up a lot of space where you could just make or get a custom box.

If you want small space and a little oomph get a nice 10 inch tube. That you could actually fit in the spare tire area if you didn't care.

Howdy there, When I was down on base in cali I bought one to simply add a bit to my basic system. I had a small pioneer amp bridged at 85 watts to it and it sounded just fine to me. It put out a respectable amount of bass considering what it is, if I remember corrrectly a dual-ported 5 1/8" woofer with two spiders, maybe it was voice coils. Anyway it had the bass sound, but not feel. Worked great if you are running speakers in the stock location off of just the head unit or maybe a 25 watt amp. To mount I simply turned my donut around and mounted as suggested, with some foam around the perimeter. I had a cd changer in the driver-side storage and other than the head unit a person couldn't tell it wasn't stock. If you're into sound on a budget without taking up much space then go for it, but if you have aspirations like I do and have 4 grand in equipment laying around to put in your car then don't bother..LOL consequently, I'm going to be putting it in my blazer soon, it's worth hanging onto in other words. Hope I didn't bore you, take care now.

Lostsol, thanks. that's the answer I was looking for. I don't want to lose any space & just want a little more sound so I can hear the music w/ the windows down & the exhaust singing! I think I'll be ordering one. Thanks again!
