Infinity speakers (how much and how bad to have underpowered)

Ok

So I was wondering about prices I should expect as reasonable for 4x6 and 6x9 infinities. Im looking for top of the line, also my headunit is only a panasonic dfu201 POS, but was cheap. can I cause ill effect to speakers with my deck or will it be fine and I just won't realise full potential without amp. Let me know ... I plan on no subs and one good amp eventually for it better head unit and possibly another set of 6x9's rear with some kicks ... gotta get up to par with 4th gens ya know.

I'm new to Infinity Car Audio but I have the Infinity Reference 4x6's(4652cf) and I really like them. I paid $80.00 for mine and am very happy with them and plan on going all Infinity. For ideas as to prices and different series of Infinity Car Audio I would suggest you check out www.crutchfield.com . But you should go to your local Infinity dealer and hear them with your own ears because everyone has different tastes and see which you like best. You could have the Audio Shop to power them off the deck so you can see if you'd be happy with it that way. I have mine powered 75watts each and they sound really great in my opinion and Infinity's love power too. The more power you throw to them the better they sound as do most speakers. Hope this helps.

Crutchfield's products are WAAAAY overpriced.

I've seen Infinity 6x9's and 6.5's go for about $200 a pair.

Even saw a deal where if you bought 1 pair of Infinity's you got the 2nd pair at half-price......shoulda jumped on that when I had the chance.

crutchfield is as good for prices as mustangs are for... anything(not much). go over to www.netmarket.com , they have good prices. I'm also looking into an MP3 player deck(JVC) and 4 Infinity Perfect speakers for next car.. should be nice.

I recommended Crutchfield as a good source to all the specs, line of Infinity products, and an idea for the prices. As for Infinity's running about $200.00 a pair you can buy them all day long on ebay for alot less than $200.00. http://www.ebaystores.com/id=7779378
Infinity Kappa plates 462.3cfp 4x6 =$83.00
Infinity Kappa 693.3i 3 way 6x9 =$142

The Infinity speakers rock. My friend has them in his '95 Stang with his new Panasonic Face(45X4). They dont push out much bass...they are more for highs and mids. Definitely look into getting a pair of thier subs as well. The Reference subs are cheap...and sound great. But the Infinity Perfects are expensive but are well worth it. Good luck.

I'm not exactly sure which you are asking, physically or sound quality?
This is the Coaxial

The sound quality is said to be better with a component set due to it being more expensive because they use higher quality materials and assembly(manufacturing) and having a seperate tweeter allows for precise imaging hence better sound stage. In my opinion the Components do sound better, but that's just my opinion.

Component set

I hope this answers your question.

I know the dimensions but I wanted to know about quality, thanks for letting me know comps are better, I was always told they were better but no one said why.

Thanks for clearing it all up.

Coll, looks like I will go with Infinity

probably 4" in dash 6.5" and tweets in kicks and sail and 6.5"s inrear with an Infinity amp and 10" sub, (don't want to use all my room up in one shot so I will probably mount the amp in the back of the rear seat. The sub I hope will fit to the hit of that first lip in the trunk (you guys know on the left side) want it to complete it across. Oh well.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Hey,

Ive had bad luck with a brand new high end panasonic receiver and never got another panasonic again (coulda been just a lemon) who knows. I would Highly reccomend a set of infinitys. If you wanna buy a pair NEW instead of crutchfeild go to www.shoppersadvantage.com There are a good reputable company very very cheap. Heres the catch you have to become a member. The fee is only 1 dollar but after 3 months its 50 so be sure to bail out before that.
