MVR400

I got this amp really cheap and I want to know its stats. It is the /////ALPINE 4/3/2 Channel Power Amplifier MRV-F400S, It is a V12 DC straight and has DUO-B mCircuit wroitton on top. Has crossovers (and what does the Filter do ...like the HP and LP settings?) I would like to know all I can about this amp, so I can know its abilities.... Any info would be helpful.

Its reads like a code--MRV-F400

M=?
R=?
V=V12
F=Four channels
40=40 watts RMS a channel
0=series (which i think looked the best, I think the new V12s end in 7s now)

I would guess your at about 50-60 watts RMS at 4 ohms/12V V-12s are usually underrated. When new, they come with a card with the actual output hand written on them. My 30x2 was actually 49x2 RMS at 12V.

ok, I was going to use this amp to power my 4x6s and 6x9s, Infinity Kapps 4x6s have 60 Watts RMS and Infinity Refernecy 6x9s have 100, so each speaker can get it own channel. My Alpine head unit has 2 pre-outs, one is marked rear out and the other is marked F-Out / Sub. So how do I go about this when I want to add a sub with a separate amp later on down the road? Could I just y- off the F.Out/Sub?

Yeah, you could use a y-rca. But doesnt that amp have an RCA output on it next to the 2 sets of inputs? You could just wire it from that amps output to the sub amps input. Thats how I used to do mine long time ago.
