Whoever knows CodeAlarm alarm systems in here please...

I have a codealarm system in my car installed just before I bought it. The guy who did it did a very hack job and the old owner got a partial refund instead of having it fixed. Anyway, it still does the basics like unlocking the doors/shock sensor/ignition kill. My question deals with the shock sensor. When I installed my amp and bass tube I must've moved the shock sensor or something because now it's not sensitive at all anymore. You practically have to smash the windshield to make it chirp.

Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor? If so, how? Is the shock sensor separate from the main unit? I don't even have the instruction manual here so I'm flying blind. Thanks for the help.

Most alarms come with a separate shock sensor...you may have to locate the alarm box and follow the wires to see where it is since different installers use different places to mount it

There should be a separate shock senson mounted under the dash. A common spot is on the steering column. There's an adjustment screw on it somewhere. Don't put any money into that alarm. Code/Chapman alarms tent to crap out after two or three years. HTH

I found it and ajusted it. Thanks guys. It's done ok for me now, my problem seems to have been with the dealer who didn't have a clue. Anyway, when this one does crap out I'll probably replace it with another brand. Although I do like the 125 dB siren...
