What size speakers do I have??
Hey Guys, I want to replace the original speakers in my 89 GTA. I haven't pulled them out yet, and was wondering what sizes they were in the front & back?? Are they 4x6's in the front, and 6x9's in the back?? Are they easy to replace, and will other speakers other than the worthless stock Delco's bolt right in without any trouble or mods??
Thanks guys!

Yeah, 4x6 in the front, 6x9 in the back. They're really easy to replace. Only install issue would be the room in the dash. I had a little trouble awhile ago fitting a 4x6 with a large magnet on the driver's side, and I've heard that there's even less room in firebirds. So you'll have to find a pretty shallow pair of 4x6's. Someone else on here probably know the max you can fit without modification...I dont know off the top of my head.

Hey Mike, thanks for the info man! I appreciate it! I will probably take one of the 4x6's with me to see if I can match the size up (magnet), and when I remove my old ones I will see how much room I have.
Thanks again man.
Take care

There was a different set of speakers that went into some GTA's they had a built in 30 watt amp and also 4" woofers where the 6x9 are usually if you have gain control on your dash then you might have it so look at it before you go out and buy.

Thanks for the info 91z4me. I just have the plain ole 6x9's. But it is good info to know. I thought they all had the same speakers. Later
