best 12 for memphis 1500D

What is the best single 12" sub for a Memphis 1100 or 1500D? I want something with minimal 600watts rms up to 1200watts rms. I want to run a memphis amp not at full gain. I want it to slam like a ****. I want to have it hit pretty hard at 1/4 to 1/3. And I want it to be in competion range at 3/4 gain. I want to run a remote gain also. I have looked at the eclpse titanium and considered them I have also looked at the RF Hx2 and power series and Boston pros. But I figured it will be a while untill I buy it so I trust yall's opinions so I figured yall could help me to decide. I don't want to spend over $750 for them but am willing to go a little higher for the best top of the line equiptment. If you recomend some other names tell me as for I have not bought the amp or the sub yet.

Jim please reply as for I have been reading for sometime now and I respect your opinion.

I have personally heard the memphis 1500D hooked up to a digital Design 9512 12 inch sub. It sounded SPECTACULAR. The only drawback, was that using a ported box, that sub requires an ungodly amount of airspace in the box. The box took up the better half of a new GTP trunk. It slammed hard though, and was amazingly tight. Its 389.95, you can order it factory direct from their site. www.ddaudio.com

Good luck man, and btw, where do you get your memphis amps? there is only one dealer here in town, and hes an *******...

First of all i applaude your choice in amp...I have a 1000D myself and its good to see memphis getting more in the mainstream...when deciding on a sub you have to make up your mind on the amp...the 1500D is only 2 ohm stable so if you gonna run a single sub you have to buy a sub with the correct amount of ohms and voice coil...a 4 ohm dvc sub is the best combo...if you get a 1000D which can drop to 1ohm you want a 2 ohm dvc sub....while you got a memphis amp you might as well invest in the memphis LVS subwoofer...its a bad mofogo to http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/P13_LVS_Subwoofers.htm for all the specs....and its a 2 ohm dvc with a 800 rms rating and 1200 max..perfect for the 1000D at the gain you are looking for....i dont think memphis is gonna have a sub ideal for the 1500D with only one sub...my suggestion is an eclipse 88120TiDVC sub http://www.eclipse-web.com/product/88000t/88000.html or the 88120DVC http://www.eclipse-web.com/product/8...000.html#88150 . Hope that helps ya out....

I agree with GenX on the ohms, i just wanted to add that when you call and order the DD's factory direct, you can specify the ohms and Voice coil configuration that you want.

Good choice in amps man! I used to have 2 1000D's until they got ripped off! Anyway, I was using those amps at 2 ohms running 2 12" Boston Pros (both 2 ohms). I'll tell you what, I could crank those amps and the subs didn't even break a sweat. They handle so well and I never had a bad sound eminate from them. I say Boston Pros.

Took a look at the DDaudio product line...specifically the 9512 and specs wise it looks to be a very nice sub..i'd definatley want to hear them before i put that much money in a sub...they advertise an "extended range of motion" but i just dont see that sub having very much excursion...but i wont knock anything till i've seen it..as far as power handling it look to be the best of them all...

Memphis prices are set and mandated at a certain price and for the dealer to sell if for less or more than what they retail it for they risk losing the memphis line...Only way to keep a good product line out of the flea markets..

Also, Gen X...

as for the excursion of the sub, i was really surprised to see it in action. Mind you, i only saw them once in a ported enclosure, and as the site shows, that takes an ungodly amount of box space, but with enough power pushing it (it had either the memphis 1100, or 1500, i cant remember), it really does travel a great deal. Never bottomed out, but traveled a lot more than i thought a speaker that size would move. It was really interesting.
