Bandpass box in a third gen.????????
I am going to build a new custom enclosure for my '91 Z and I was wondering if anyone here has built a bandpass style box in a third gen. Camaro/Firebird before. How would it sound? Worth the trouble? Anybody have pics of one? Any help would be appreciated.

not many people have bandpass boxes, they usually require twice the amount of airspace which 3rd Gen's lack.
my opinion is that bandpass only sounds good in trunks, and "open-cabin" sounds best with sealed enclosures
so with that, i have no pics to offer

I heard a single Sony Xplod 12" in a bandpass in the back of a Ford Probe just the other day. It sounded amazing. They do take more space than a sealed box, but the sound in the car just depends on how it's tuned. It could be done, but might be a bit of a challenge. Bandpass boxes are very particular about your volumetric tolerances. If you build one wrong it can sound worse than Dog isht. Definately easier to go with sealed, but if you have the time & knowledge go for it. Typically you can get 3-6db more spl out of the same wattage versus a sealed box, but you only get that for a narrow bandwidth (hence the name).
