Sub enclosure size
I have a set of JBL 10" subs without a home. How would I find out how much air space they need and whether or not they need to be ported?

What is the model number on the back of the magnet???? If the label is a teal/green then they are Grand Touring models and are about 5-6 years old. I have the T/S specs.....
GT102
Free air res. = 43 Hz
Q = .342
Vas = 1.02
The dual voice coil model has different specs.

JL has a pretty good web site. I got the recommended enclosure volume of my 12W0-4 from their site.
I believe it's www.JLAudio.com
Thomas.

Yeah, I gues the model number would help, it says GT102D. Could I just use one of those off the shelf, premade boxes?

Theile/Small specs which are used to determine box size.
BTW GT102D specs are.....
Free air Res 39 Hz
Qts .369
Vas 1.73
Radio Shack had a goodbook that covered the basics of box designing. I'll bet JLaudio has the same, if not BETTER info on their website.
