God I Can't Wait! Fosgate Fans Come Hither...

I finally got all the stuff for my car stereo...

so I dont have to keep typing Fosgate, all my equipment is fosgate...

2 4x6's for the dash, powered by a punch 100
2 6x9's(3-way) in wall, powered by a punch 120
4 15' Power DVC's being pushed by 2 800a2's

I'm thinking about throwing some 10's in the wall also, but I think im going to skip that...

Power includes:
1 190 CCA(220 Warm)High Performance with a Low RPM high Through-put...
1 Optimum Yellow Top(1100CCA) battery up front
2 Vortex(900CCA) batteries in back
4 1.0 Farad Lightning caps(EFX, Stinger, Fosgate)

I'm building the wall so the 4 15's are right behind the 2 driver seats, and the wall is angling down the other way to meet the hump, and on that will be where my amps will be mounted(im going to run a board like a few inches above the other so i can finally make use of all my friggin beauty plates), then where the board goes flat is where i will have a little compartment where i can flip up like a lid, where the trunk is now, and have my batteries and lightning caps down there...

I'm bored at work, and decided to share some of my excitement...

the wall and carpeting will be the same as the interior color of my car...

Are those subs 4 or 8 ohm? and how are you going to wire them? If ur running them at two ohm mono how much power do you estimate the amp will make

the power dvc's are 1000 watts rms (500 rms per coil) and 2000 watts max and both coils are 4 ohms.. The 800a2's put out 800x1 at 4 ohms rms.. The 800a2 is not 1 ohm stable in most conditions so I'm estimating that each sub coil will see about 200 watts rms... I don't think this setup is going to be as good because the subs are going to be severely underpowered.. To run 4 15" power dvc's you really need 4 800a2's or 2 bd1000.1's...

ive thought about that a little bit, and i decided that if im oing to do it i might as well do it right...im going to be running 2 bd1000's instead, selling the 800a2's and getting the bd1000's instead...

ive never ran DVC's before, how would i hook these up to get the most stable running/most power?

If I were you I would run the new Power HX2's. Almost 2-inch excursion on the cone. Dual 2-ohm voice coils, 18.75 lb. magnet. 1000w rms, 2000w max. I will be using four 12" Power HX2's across the top of the well in the hatch. My supplier for the RF says that the bd1000 could be run 1-ohm stable. I'll probably start out by running one bd1000 for each pair of subs but I may upgrade to one bd1000 for each sub running one ohm stable. Sounds good so far, wire voice coils in parallel will cut ohms in half, wire in series will double. Good Luck

ok, if i got 2 power bd1000a's, and right now i currently have 2 of the power dvc's, how would i run them if i wanted to achieve a 1 ohm load?
how would i wire the amps and speakers, and what ohm would it be, and how many watts(rms) would it be putting into each voice coil?

IrocZ33, whats going to be in your charging system that is going to cover that 400 amp load? Each bd1000.1 is rated at 100 amps.. What size power wire are you going to run??

Klayburn, TO get a 1 ohm load with 2 DVC subs that are 4 ohms per coil: Wire all positive coils to the positive terminal and all negative coils to the negative terminal on your amp. To achieve a 4 ohm load with 2 dvc subs, wire one positive terminal from each sub to the positive terminal on the amp. Wire one the same coils negative terminal to the negative terminal on the amp. Then for the second coil on each sub, run the positive to the negative on the same coil..

for a diagram, go to www.rockfordfosgate.com and then go to rftech and then wiring diagram.. That's the best I can do without drawing a picture..
