Ok choped it down?
ok i have decided that i'm going to either get L7 kicker subs, mtx 8000s or alpine subs. i have a box made for three round 12's, but thinking of maybe going different, what would you suggest, three 12's of 2 of the new squares.

hmm steve, it all comes down to a simple thought, is it my equipment, or yours. if i were you, i would go with the 3 12's considering that box was made for the 12's. 3 12's = more cone area,= more moving air,= more bass! as long as that box was made using the thiel-small parameters that the subs need, then the choice is clear...

According to Kicker, and every place that sells them, and all of the artilces that I read, they say that the 10" L7 has more suface area than 12" round subs.

Steven if you have the money I would suggest going w/ the Kicker squars subs. Not only would it be different from everyones round ones, but they also hit a lot harder. They move a lot more air. They hit harder b/c since they are not round they have more surface area. EXAMPLE: 12 dianmeter of a round one is a lot less than a 12 diameter of a square one!
So if you have the money, go for the KICKER'S!
