rockford bd1000 & alpine type R 1 sub or 2?

if i have a bd1000 and 1 type r is it not going to be pushing the amp very hard. I heard from some friends that i should get 2 type R's then bridge the amp, I was figureing that since the amp is a mono that it would be pushing as hard as it can already. So any opionions on what i should do.

Is the Type R a 10, 12, or 15?

I would go 2 10's, u could go 1 or 2 12's or 1 15....
If u have a 10, go 2 forsure.. If its a 12, u could go 1 or 2 but be careful if u go with only 1 because u could blow the sub... 1 15 with that amp would be an almost perfect match...

Well, that amp makes it power at 2 ohms, and you can get the type-r in 4 ohm or 2 ohm (parallel dvc) versions so either option will work, but I doubt that sub will take 1000+ RMS when it's rated at 300 RMS. (Assuming you're talking about 12's) Even the 15 is only rated to 500 watts. I say get two subs, and properly set the gain on your amp so that you dont blow your sub(s).

If you have the DVC's, then by all means, get 2. you can wire it up any way you need to. if you're worried about blowing it out, wire it in series. i've got one 12 type-r dvc and hoping to get the second very soon. that bd1000 should be fine to power one or two of those subs

sorry, but I refuse to put anything that says Type R on, or in my car

Next, Alpine will make a Vtech amp.

yes, i too hate the fact that alpine named one of their best subs the type r. but, it is a great sub, so i will gladly put them in the back of my car. just make sure the least amount of people see the name on it....

Thats funny i guess i never realized it said TYPE-R they would. so the general concences is that i would be okay with one? but would be better off with two. only problem is that to get another one i have to get a whole new box. but if its best then i will.
