MTX Subs?????

My friend is a corrupt employee at Circuit City, and their best brand is MTX. I have seen the commercials, and I know that they at least have to be decent subs. Also, I only want 1 12" sub in the box that comes with it. They sell the sub + box for a lot of money. He has a 60% discount and said he can get me a 150 watt amp, a the MTX 12" and the box for $200, is this a hell of a deal? I'm just worried about the box not fitting in my hatchback. I've seen some pictures of other guys set-ups and they look professional, but my other friend is going to install it all for me(he installed a 4 12" sub system, plus 20 speakers in his tiny *** Suzuki Swift, lol) So anyway, should I hook this up? Will the 12" box fit in my hatch? If I hit a bump in the road(you figure they'd have the road situaion solved i.e. cold road = broken roads) will my sub break? Thanks all, sorry for the long note.
Thanks again
Dave

There is nothing wrong or "corrupt" about hooking your friends up. Would you do that for him? I love MTX, and I think that if the amp is powerful enough, then it is a good deal. If the box is too big, then costomize it!! If you don't know how, there is only one way to find out!!! Trial and error!!! Anyways the internet is a great place for info, plus there are alot of books and people willing to help.

Also it depend on what series subs they are.

Thunder 4000: The lowest but still sound great.

Thunder 6000: The next step up. Better.

Thunder 8000: The best for the money. No, there not cheap, but they don't cost as much as comparable subs.

I went to Circuit City and looked at all of their merchandise. The 4000 series sounded pretty good, and at buy one get one free for $79(2 10's) That's a hell of a deal. They told me that I couldn't get a 12 in the back without building a custom box, and I got other stuff to spend money on first, so they said that I could go with two truck boxes with 10's in them, since they didn't have any 12's. I probably will buy the 2 10's 4000 Series, and go to Car Toys to see if I can get my hands on a better amp, this was a 200 Watt amp, but it was like 250 bucks, I can do better than that. Does anyone have these truck boxes? If so, how do they sound? Also, can I configure this so I can still put my T-Tops in the trunk?

Ok, I will do that. I know that there's a Quality AutoSound nearby, I think on Belleview. They have everything I need right? I'm taking the guy whos going to install it all for me, and he has a nice system, so he'll know everything I need to get. How are their prices compared to everything else? I'm not looking to spend over like 350 bucks, and i'm pretty sure I can pull that off, because that's what I was going to pay at Circuit City. I hate Circuit City(no offence to anyone who works there, it's just that I have never found anyone worth a damn there and they never have what I need, bastards.)
