Found this over at camaroz28.com and thought maybe some of you here might be interested.

If you like to play your stereo for extended periods of time with the car not running, i'd suggest the deep cycle yellow top Optima.
Thanks for your time.

Will the yellow battery even fit in the stock battery tray?

quick question, right now I have a stock 92Z with a 305, first off what size is the stock alternator, and since I need a new battery which is a better bet with my system, a red or yellow top, I was thinking yellow but figured I'd ask anyway, I have a fosgate punch 600a4 inside (pushing diamond audio hex 6.5's and mb quart 3 way 6x9's) and a fosgate power 800a2 with a lightning cap on it (driving 3 JL 10w6s) Will the red top get the job done well or should I spring for the extra 25 on the yellow?

Three comments:
1) Optima's patent has expired and Interstate now sells 'em under their label. Oddly enough though, the battery case itself still says "Optima" on it. They just stick an Interstate sticker on it! Mine's red.
2) I bought one and it does not fit the stock battery tray. It's about 1/4" too long! I couldn't tell from the Optima website if the Red tops and Yellow tops are different dimensionally (i seriously doubt it, though).
3) I was unaware of the Red / Yellow thing when I bought mine. I splurged for the Optima (-uh Interstate...) because my cooling fans run after the engine shuts off (sometimes for as long as 20 minutes) and is really hard on "ordinary" batteries. Since I now know that the Yellow top is deep cycle, I might have asked for that one instead. ? It seems to be doing fine, so far.
