Any news on the GTA Deluxe door panel pods? I've started design work on the rear box and gotten the wiring run...

Re: Any interest in Custom fiberglass speaker pods?
I'm afraid they will end up like the 82-92 door pods I finished ....I'll devote time and effort to making them and I just sell one set and sitting on the rest.
That's also the case with my 2nd gen door pods for sure, I sold one set last may even after 10 or more people jumped in and said they were interested. After I said I was making them...nothing but crickets lol.
It's getting cold now, if I get bored on Christmas break I might dig back into it, but no guarantees at the moment. Got other stuff going on right now. Plus I have a full time job which makes it harder.

I started on applying filler and started shaping them, but stopped for now. It takes a lot of time to make these that is better spent elsewhere.

I'm highly interested. I wouldn't need grill covers as I plan on having the speakers visible.

That's okay. Probably won't be able to do anything before at least February anyways.

Re: Any interest in Custom fiberglass speaker pods?
I'll throw some of these on eBay and see how they go, I'm hoping I don't get any tire kickers on these like I did on the molds I took the time to make for the 82-92 standard doors.
I'm going to sell these for $150 shipped inside the lower 48 states off eBay, will be a little higher if they are going outside the USA.
Here's what I came up with
Thanks
They actually compliment the q-logic kickpanels so if you were doing a three-way speaker set up this would fit the bill.

So I assume your cutting off the map pocket, obviously. How are you attaching the pod to the door panel ? Is there enough depth in the pod to mount the 6.5 without altering the inner sheetmetal ????

Re: Any interest in Custom fiberglass speaker pods?
The pods attach by screwing the pod to the door using long screws through the speaker mounting holes. Biting into the metal.
There's about 1.5" -1.75" depth in the pod itself, so your speakers need to be no deeper than that. You can cut some material out of the door panel behind the pod and gain another inch or so depth if needed
Thanks

That's a really tight fit. Have you found a speak that will fit using your pod without altering the door ?

Amazon.com : Infinity Reference 6032si 6.5-Inch, Shallow Mount High Performance 150-Watt Two-Way Loudspeaker (Pair) : Vehicle Speakers : Car Electronics
And another

and another

There's speakers out there that will work
Like I said in the other post, you can cut some of the door panel out behind the pod and gain more room without cutting the metal in the door or hitting the metal. Your going to have to assume your going to cut on the factory door panels to install these. There will be some cutting and drilling into them. That's part of it.

Put the GTA pods on eBay to move them out, I am NOT planning on making any more.
But I will be more than happy to do so in the future if the price is right Won't be this cheap.

Re: Any interest in Custom fiberglass speaker pods?
I am interested in a set of pods for these type gta panels, but I would like the piece to completely cover the inset area, around the door handle and armrest area. What would something like this run. Thanks!!

Re: Any interest in Custom fiberglass speaker pods?
I'm sorry, not making anything custom past what I already have to sell.
You can make what your asking using one of these pods. Just take some 1/8" hardboard and make it fit that area, then attach the pod to that and cover the whole piece in whatever material you are wanting to use.
Your welcome to bid on the auction and get a set for a cheaper price. I'm not pushing to sell these anymore as it's not really worth my time.
But if someone stumbles on this thread and wants a set I will be glad to make another one for $150 shipped to lower 48
Thanks again
