Crackling.... whine with rpm rise

I just put in a new amp. Not top of the line, but something that will boost my still factory speakers (yeah yeah I know). Anyways, it sounds good when the engine is off. But when I turn the car over, I get kind of a poof, and then at idle I get a bunch of crackle type sounds. Then when I hit a little gas (still in park) I get a slight whine. It's no real big deal, and not very noticable with the volume up... but It drives me nuts. I am one of those people. What is this and how can I fix it?!?!?

i have had this on a few amps now, usually the lower end quality ones. what this has usually turned out to be was bad internal grounding of the amps components or the case. i bought signal filters to clear this up a little bit. installed bigger ground wires in better locations. and eventually did the smat thing and moved up to better quality amplifiers. try what i said and see what happen.

Get some spiral wound noise suppression spark plug wires like msd or other ones. My system made a ticking/ whining sound and when I stepped on the gas it got worse. i have an aftermarket ignition and with the supppression wires it went away. good luck.

Move your ground my friends old 85 z28 did this horribly. I don't think it's your amp check your ground, crimp on a good ring and get those washers with the teeth on them. I bet this takes the noise away.

Three of my amps are very close mounted to each other, so the power wires get intereference, and this happens a lot also. What i did, was bought a noise surpressor for a few bucks (pretty inexpensive), and it gets wired in series to the Battery terminal of the amp. No more noise. : )
