Re: dynamat help please.
I have it in my car and it is night and day to the old padding. Now one thing to remember that that stuff is heavy if your going for proformance than you might wanna go a different route. There is some stuff I was told you can get at like lowes and menards that is for roofing that is almost the same thing its got the foil on the one side and the compound on the other I was told it runs cheaper than dynomat.

Re: dynamat help please.
I have used the Lowes stuff frequently and have nothing but great things to say about it. It is in the roofing area and is called Peel and Seal.... only like 15 bucks a roll... I have used it under the carpets and in the doors with awesome results. Some say it will smell in the heat as its asphalt based, but let me tell you... I live in Louisiana and have had zero smell or peeling issues from it for years of use....

Re: dynamat help please.
Do the doors! And the roof too. You A/C will work better, your stereo will sound like it SHOULD. I did both skins of both doors first, and the difference was night and day. The doors closed like a $60,000 Lexus, not a $3000 3rd gen!
I've tried Fat Mat and one of the others, but Dynamat was far and away the best in adhesion and insulation. Fat Mat I think runs about $70 for 5 sheets of 18x40 inches or thereabouts. While some of the usual suspects will sell you 9 sheets of 18x32 Dynamat for $270, you can find it on Amazon and other places for $130 or so. 9 sheets of FatMat work out to about $120 or so. I know what I will be using. I am also putting in Dynaliner too- 1/4 inch on the roof and 1/2 inch on the floors. THAT will take care of the California heat and the whine from my fuel pump!

Re: dynamat help please.
Brown Bread I believe is no longer available.
Raamat is good for the budget minded and works better than fatmat.
Stinger is also good quality.
Buy the best you can afford.
Doors, floor, hatch, firewall and roof in that order.
100sq ft will do the doors, floor and hatch.
See my build thread in my sig....36 sq ft of Dynamat Xtreme

I have heard that "Quick Roof" is a cheaper alternative to dynamat but research it first to see others results before buying/trying. It's available at Home Depot.

Use whatever you feel works for you, but I would not skimp on quality for lining the roof. It is subject to the most direct heat and if you ever have adhesion problems with the product you choose, the last place you want it is on the roof lining for obvious reasons!

I got DynaMat off of Amazon - less than half the regular price and shipping was paid. Seems like a good deal to me. At least it's a proven product.

Re: dynamat help please.
I completely covered my interior with DM extreme, every square inch of interior metal from the firewall to the t-bar to the doors to the hatch has been covered. Made a huge difference in sound. no more rattles/squeaks and I can finally hear my radio over the road noise. the car seem 1000% more solid

Love the colour scheme of your car jwdomino! I was wanting a two tone look myself but with red and black.

Re: dynamat help please.
Seems to be either a love it or hate it thing. I get people that say its hideous, and others that love it. I saw a car that won a riddler back in 2007 that had the design that inspired me. The silver and black were set in stone then, almost even did a charcoal instead of the silver, but HOK orion silver just pops. I designed it start to finish, hand mixed the green from a neon yellow and a emerald green metallic...End result was what you see, looks real close to the snyergy green GM just released. Close up you'd see there is actually a series of other colors to help define the paint lines too, both black and white outlines and a "shadow" line of metallic gray as well.
With so many companies releasing variations of a lime/metallic I think I was visionary in choosing it.

Re: dynamat help please.
if you can get DM for a good price, then go for it. if you opt for the peel and seal route, use it on the floors only - not a good track record of staying in place on doors (definitely not roofs). raammat is a good choice for all areas, along with pretty much anything from Sound Deadener Showdown

Re: dynamat help please.
I did this as well. Free shipping was included and it was under $125.00. Keep in mind, to do a thorough job, expect to spend HOURS on it. I was a bit **** doing it and wanted to cover every square inch. These cars are super curvy and contoured once the rug is up. I spent 18 hours on it but did notice a difference when driving with t-tops on.
