Playing Ice Cracked His Speakers

Might be too much bass.

What is the power capabilities of the speakers?

What is the power capabilities of the amp?

Happy Racing!

Re: Playing Ice Cracked His Speakers

Mine used to crackle and I couldnt turn them up to loud. At the time though only my rear driver side speaker worked. Me and my friend ran new wires to all the speakers (it was a rats nest and took about 3-4 hours!) and the speaker that was crackling we just replaced it with one in his garage and now I have an awesome sound system!

So it might just be that you need to replace them or that you need to run new wires. Start with the cheap repairs and work your way up until you fix the problem.

Re: speakers crackling

Do you have an aftermarket deck ? If so turn the bass down and the hpf filter on if you still here it , its probably blown. And when you replace it make sure it doesnt happen again. set your bass and treble up properly if you need more bass get a sub.

If your music is playing all the time with no break then its probably not the wires

Also is this your front 4x6 speakers or your side 6x9? or all 4? might help in trouble shooting the problem.

Re: speakers crackling

It can happen if you happen to have solid core spark plug wires. Or a high output ignition.

Check out the second two headings.

Re: speakers crackling

I jus figuired out my issue , the wire from the speaker cone to the terminals was touching the speaker frame and shorting or grounding out (not sure of the term) but i seen it sparking so i put a peice of eletric tape on the frame under the wire and now im good! But putting in the passenger speaker is not easy for me... Not sure if its the same for everyone
