Never heard of it.
With sound deadener it really is a case of you get what you pay for.
This is what I use...

How much does this stuff weigh? I'd imagine the gallon of paint + ?? Our cars are already pig heavy, no sense in making it worse. Besides, the matting underneath the car is fine for me. Then again, I dont do complicated systems.. Just a deck, better stock located speakers, small sub driver and a 10" -12" single I can take out.

You do kinda get what you pay for when using sound deadeners. I used a product called EDEAD by elemental designs. it was reasonably cheap and there alot of variations of their product. I did the whole car and put thicker material on the door panels. The car has significantly less vibrations and rattles, especially around the doors. Just do some investigating on all the products types (Dynamat, Hushmat, Lizardskin, Fatmat, Edead) and choose the ones that best suites your needs/price range.

I agree that generally the more expensive stuff is better, but often, the added benefits of the better stuff is lost on 90% of the installation.
I've used the cheap Home Depot Peal & Seal stuff with very good results, and it's CHEAP. It's the same basic product as most of the audio-based stuff, with the exception that it's not as temperature resistant and can separate from panels at high temperatures. Because of that, I'd say don't use it on your roof or your trunk lid, and if you live in hot climates, it may not be a great idea for your doors & other vertical surfaces either. But... it's great for floors and other areas where it can't fall, and it's a TON cheaper than the "good" stuff.
I used it extensively in my wife's old Camry and it worked great. I even did her doors with it, and that stuff stayed put for the entire duration of our ownership. The key is to get it REAL hot when you apply it so that you get maximum adhesion.

i have used most of the Edead products and i think they work very well. They are local to me too and i dont have to worry about shipping. i'm not sure if i like the liquid stuff as much but it is nice when you have tight spots that stick on deading dont get to very well
