ipod dock in camaro
i have been reading on here for awhile on different ways people integrated there ipods into there rides. i have a cheep solution. its a dual radio that you get at walmart for 100 bucks. model xml8100. in order to get it to work you have to use a radio kit. you cant flush mount it. it wouldnt be able to open if you did. hope this helps some people.

Re: ipod dock in camaro
I just stuck mine in the center console since my Kenwood KIV-700 controls all functions of the ipod.
that deck you got looks pretty neat.

That's what I did too, it's hidden and someone walking by would have no idea you would even have an ipod in there and you can take it with you whenever you want. How does the Dual unit work I see they have some really cool looking radios and they're really reasonable pricewise too so how is the quality?

Re: ipod dock in camaro
My iPod works through a 6' cord to the Aux jacks on the back of the HU. I like using the iPod to control the music better than the radio dials. And I can pass it to passengers if they want to pick a tune. In addition since I have an iPhone I can answer my calls through the radio when it's hooked up. Just put the phone on speaker and the call comes through the car speakers for hands free calls.

That's Very Nice Zepher. I have an older Valor DVD HU. Works great but can't use the touchscreen for the IPod/Phone.

Re: ipod dock in camaro
I just bought an alpine ina-w900bt and it controls my ipod as well. its touch screen and has a ledge where the "hard" buttons sit at the bottom, so I can rest my finger or knuckels on it to find exactly what I want without stabbing other "soft" buttons(touch screen buttons) while looking and becoming frustrated. Installed it on saturday, and already I'm in love!! I will get pictures of it later on
