Radios with same mouting brackets?
Anyone have any suggestions of other cars that possibly have the same mounting brackets on the radios as our cars do?
I finally found and bought a radio to match the RPO codes for my car, but the place I bought from didn't include the mounting brackets that go on the side of the radio. Unfortunately it's been so long since I've played around with audio systems in these cars that I don't even remember what those brackets look like.

Just about any late 80s GM car uses the same mounting.

Yeah they are held on by a nut that attaches to a slide clip

Re: Radios with same mouting brackets?
Would anyone happen to have any of the brackets available for sale?
I went through the entire local junk yard, and there wasn't a single car that that still had the radio in it with the correct brackets.

Hmmmm..............I have my old Delco am/fm right here!
Did you get a Delco replacement thats the same dimensions as the stock one?
Does it have the bracket on each side toward the front of the radio?
OR the brackets are missing?
Like MY suggests it is just a L bracket thats held on by a speed clip and nut.
That then bolts into the radio opening...............
Anyhoo if that what you have and the brackets are what ya need give me a shout and I will send them to ya................
BUT you will owe me a cold beer ! LOL!.................geo

Re: Radios with same mouting brackets?
I can tell you one thing to help you, the 85-92 brackets are very different from the 82-84 ones because of the different center console : the holes are in a different place, they're longer with a crease at the top. I guess the Camaro brackets are the same as the 82-84, as well as the Fiero brackets.
They're symmetrical so they're both different parts, this is what you're looking for : 10098503 (right) and 10031618 (left).

Re: Radios with same mouting brackets?
Ok, so I found a place that sells the right side, but I can't find the other anywhere.
These are pictures of the sides of the radio I have. It's suppose to be the radio matching the RPO code (I think UM7). And as you can see, I don't have the retaining bolt for the bracket either.

Re: Radios with same mouting brackets?
my82roc,
The part numbers from the other post show the brackets you have pictured on the left, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that extension at the top of the bracket with the notch would be there for.
But it appears as though the holes for the screws are the same distance away on both brackets.
Wouldn't suppose you'd be willing to part with a pair of those brackets?

The clip with the nut slides into the slot in the radio body.

Solar was correct!

Re: Radios with same mouting brackets?
Can you please measure the space between the two holes, that way I'll be sure they fit my '88 IROC. Do you have paypal?
