AM radio fix?

My AM radio has so much static when I'm driving that its almost not worth it. I replaced my plugs, plug wires and distributer cap with the best ones I could find but it hasn't helped much. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks!

Re: AM radio fix?

Does it still do it when using a cd or tape? Only asking because I had a similiar problem once and I found the antenna plug was loose.

Re: AM radio fix?

I used to see bad AM reception in cars that were grounded badly. Ground all of your audio to as close to the frame on clean bare metal. Sometimes I would even ground the shielding on the antenna.

Re: AM radio fix?

It only does it on AM radio, FM and cd's are pretty good. It is a pioneer radio. I will have to look into the grounding thing. Thanks!
