Waste of Money?
I was looking through all the audio **** out there, and I'm on a budget, but I kind of have my heart set on a few of these things...
Just your opinion on if it is a waste of money... or anything else better for less?
Thanks guys.
My Ideas:
1500W-RF AMP
2 P3 Punch Subs
HUmount
Kenwood Excelon KVT-614 with Navigation Package
From all those I get a total right around $2,500...
This does not include wiring. Some wiring in car from PO, didn't check if it is useable or not...
Looking for all options. The less hacking, the better.

Re: Waste of Money?
An humount is a waste of money, with that said I have one in my GT and one waiting to be installed in my GTA. Probably one of the coolest ways to waste money when it comes to car audio.

Re: Waste of Money?
I agree that the HU Mounts are a beautiful way to waste money. Loved how mine looked in my GTP.
As for the amp and subs, lots of people have good luck with RF, but I feel that there are better deals to be had online from some lesser known companies. My last setup was a 600 rms Ample Audio amp along with an Ascendant Audio 12" and together cost me about $350. big fan of diymobileaudio forums; lots of good product info and reviews. Not to mention some good deals on used stuff in the classified section. $2500 is a decent chunk of change to spend on a stereo, get the best bang for buck you can.
Next question- do you have an alarm yet for the car? You don't want to have that kind of equipment without some added protection. I've been there twice already and had to learn the hard way.

Re: Waste of Money?
i got one p3 on a 3400 spl amp and it sounds great well did sound great i got my system jacked. i am a car audio installer and i have put a couple rf systems in and they are just about unbeatable unless you get some memphis mojos. the system i put in using 2 mojo 12in subs in a caviler and i couldn't even sit in the back seat it was so loud. I think you got a get list made the only thing i would tell you is two get a jvc head unit and you do want to bye new wire no smaller then 4gauge the size of wire does make a difference.

Re: Waste of Money?
haha, yeah, i wish mine did... i wish mine was stick to... come to think of it... WHY DID I BUY IT?
I'm not really set on a HU yet, i just really liked that Model, having a DVD player, and a GPS in one with a 7 inch touch screen, all in a single headunit so no cutting. If i got a cheaper one it would cut costs in half...

Re: Waste of Money?
In my world, $2500 on stereo is a waste. That's almost a crate motor! That's an IROC! I paid that for my 1997 Z28 LT1!

Re: Waste of Money?
Oh, well then - that's better. {NOT!}
$1500 in my world equals 2 RS's - both running with v8's! (I paid $500 for my 1990 RS and $800 for my 1992)
It's ok - it's your money! I just had to give ya a hard time.
(This coming from the guy who has about $900 in 3rd gen Camaro memoribilia junk, like Hot Wheels Cars, Tyco race track with 3rd gens, caps, buttons, R/C cars, shirts, and who knows what!)
I also started adding up what I have in my RS the other night, and gave up when I got above 12k!
