Re: any1 with double din stereo?
Pioneer Avic-D3 with Navigation, DVD and Ipod control, ordered a extra face plate from ThirdgenRanch for $5 and filed it until the Unit fit. I didn't have move the A/C controls, but I did have to trim a small amount of the metal bracing out to make the unit fit. I used black weatherstrip foam to fill the gaps on the sides.

Re: any1 with double din stereo?
I think it would be a lot more difficult to install into Firebirds due to the fact the faceplate is so different. if you or someone you know has any fabrication skills with fiberglass, etc, I would def say go for it, but I've had 3 firebirds myself and every time I tried something like this, I wasn't really happy with the results. I always ended up with a flipout or traditional CD players for my systems. Check around in your local area for a good independant car stereo shop, they tend to have better fab skills than the Best Buys, etc. Good luck.

Re: any1 with double din stereo?
minimum requirements for one 12W7 is:
box size sealed: 1.515 cubic ft
box size ported: 1.89 cubic ft
(these boxes do include displaced air volume from sub factored in.)
all other specs can be found here: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=9

Re: any1 with double din stereo?
IMO while the W7 is a good sub, i think that it is over priced and over hyped. I would look into other brands. Such as DC - www.dcsoundlab.com : Sundown - www.sundownaudio.com : RE audio - www.reaudio.com : FI - www.ficaraudio.com
there are still plenty others out there. You may not have heard of these since they aren't mainstream brands, but they are much better than what you can buy at Bestbuy. I've heard of the above mentioned brands, more particulary the ones in the same grouping (power level) as the w7 and they all were louder and cleaner than any W7 that i've ever heard.
