12 or 21 pin radio?
I am looking to buy a radio from a 1989 Iroc and I was wondering if it takes the 12 or 21 pin connectors?

Re: 12 or 21 pin radio?
I'm pretty sure camaro(and most other GM)is 21 pin
from'88 on,though i think some of the trucks such as
astro van and s-10 were 12 pin into the 1990s.If you
don't want to tamper with original 12 pin harness but
want to use a 21 pin radio,i think you could get one of
those wiring adaptor kits meant for aftermarket radios
to plug into original harness, then connect plugs from a
21 pin radio to the adaptor plug's wires-will need to
get or make an adaptor for the antenna plug also
If used delco radio does not work right, probably only
has the usuall broken solder joint problems-easy fix.
