OZ audio speakers

just wanted to see how many of you have heard of these. they have a 3 way component that is out of this world, and well priced compared to other top end 3ways

for i think around $780, comes with a 6.5, 4, and 1" tweet.

perfect for making a speaker panel on your door panel, and using a 4x6 plate in the dash.

im personally getting these when i get that stage

they are the only speaker to get a perfect speaker rating from IASCAl, if that says anything...

your thoughts..........

Re: OZ audio speakers

OZ is a very good high end company. They make excellent speakers. Have you actually listened to them?

I've listened to Hertz and Focal. I prefer the Focal. Good mids and highs and not too harsh.

Re: OZ audio speakers

i have a friend who owns a shop in corsicana, tx....and even when he uses focal speakers, he swears by the OZ x-overs.

i have not heard these yet, i managed a shop for about a year, and we were going to get them in, then we got robbed and shut the joint down.

but from what i hear, they blow even the $1600 focal utopia's away.

this guy has done 3-4 of the dallas cowboy's cars, and everytime i call him, he has a lambo, or ferrari, or even rolls royce in the shop, if not some badass old school cutlass.

i trust his judgement.

but yes, focal's.....given the right series and application....sound GREAT!

but you have to get at least to the k2 level to really get there

Re: OZ audio speakers

If it was me I'd trust me ears and not what someone tells me (since it's my money).

Just remember that what you like may not be what others like. Same goes for music styles.

I made up a cd with 8 songs covering a variety of music and instruments (jazz, steely dan, van morrison, rap, etc) just to hear how the speakers pick up the various styles, notes and instuments. This is a better more balanced test.

Good luck.

Re: OZ audio speakers

agreed man. i record and play music for a living, so i know exactly what you're talking about.

i have that same cd.....well, now a playlist on my ipod, but yes.

good call.

would you agree that there are some people that you can trust on that stuff though? i mean, i've heard all the lines of focal, and they sound great....in certain cars. had a friend put some k2's in his maxima, with a high end alpine head, and a zx series 4 channel.....sounded like ****.....no what im sayin?

Re: OZ audio speakers

I have always liked Infinity Kappa's myself. I used to own my own shop and While I installed all of the best name brands, I always liked the sound of Pioneer head units, Alpine v-12 amps, Audiocontrol processors, Infinity mids and highs, Jl audio subs. A lot of the way it sounds also depends on the quality of the installation and of course, personal taste!!!

Yup...been there.

From what I gathered on car audio boards..the Oz are similiar in sound and spatial seperation to the hertz (HSK165). While I like the Hertz, I find the Focal much more to my liking. However, I realize that my style of music plays a big part in the characteristics of the comps.

Good luck....Oz is a solid choice.
