Re: Delco with ipod input

if u do a little search i remember seeing a write up on how somebody did it on here a while ago. it was something along the lines of soldering the mini connector in between tape player and the internal amp

That's what I've heard too. I'm a newbie to electronics so I was wondering how hard it would be. I don't want to blow up myself or the car .

Re: Delco with ipod input

id like to say those radios are a dime a dozen but somebody would probably jump in and say "i got a dime, where is my 12 tape decks" but go ahead and try it worst thing that happens is u have to get another radio. i work for a big box radio shop in il and we have a couple of older gm tape decks that are free for the tacking. may not work. i say give it a try, if u succeed u can sell ur skill

Re: Delco with ipod input

Well, I know a couple component level techs. I was thinkin of getting older 80s Delcos, changing out the amps (40Wx4), and adding an 1/8" jack on the face panel. Also, It would be cool to up the amp for the "performance sound" and get some speakers to handle the load. It would give a nice original look with out sacrificing quality audio.
