Will these fit in my 87 Iroc?
I searched around on here and google, and I haven't found a positive "This fits, this doesn't" thread for what I'm looking for. I just got my first third gen yesterday and I'm not sure of the audio in it yet, besides the cheap head unit.
The speakers are located in the dash, correct?
I have a pair of 5 1/4" Infinity Reference speakers (552i I think) out of one of my old cars and they sound pretty good. Will they fit up there? It seems like everyone is saying they are 5x7s from the factory. Just wanted to clarify.
I also have a pair of Kenwood 5 1/4s, but they will probably be put on Craigslist soon.
And I'm also assuming 6x9s are in the back. I was thinking about getting that cheap Dual head unit that flips down for like $130, and some decent 6x9s (I have Infinitys in my DD and they are nice) so that sounds like a good idea too. I wish I could actually put those 5.25s to use!
Oh, and I'm not into a kick panel or anything, just simple aftermarket audio for this unit. Thanks guys.

That Dual head unit will scrap on you in no time. 130 isn't cheap, you can get a decent Kenwood, JVC, or Pioneer for that price shop around a bit. You won't really be able to make those 5.25's fit in your dash but you could easily do some build outs for the doors and mount them in the door panels. The back speakers are 6X9's.

I am definitely aware it is cheap. But, for the features and design it has for the price it'll be worth it. I have a DEH-7900BT in my TA, so I gotta have something semi fancy in the new unit.
That really sucks about the 5.25s. That means they have to collect some more dust until I buy a car that will house them. I'm not really making this car have a sick system or anything, just new speakers and head unit.
Thanks again, guys.
