Power Wire
I have been looking for a spot to run my power wires and my amp and am having a hard time finding one. Some help would really help not very many people around my area know **** about it.

Re: Power Wire
Heres how i did mine, the pix are pretty self explanitory. As a result, out of all the things that i installed, the only thing that sticks out are the subs, other than that, its very hard to tell i have a sound system.
I ran th power wire through the antenna grommet. I drilled a hole about 1/4 in smaller than the wire, and then muscled it in there. Perfect seal.
I routed it through the frame horn, at the front. And out just at the battery. you can only see the wire where it attaches to the battery, thats it.
Tucked neatly along the antenna.
On the inside
I ran the power wire all along the seam of the car, under the carpet. Under the plastic sail panel covers, to my amp, which is mounted here.
Plenty of ventillation for it, its relatively cool location, out of the sun. Easy access if i need to adjust the amp filters, AND the cover fits on flawlessly.
next step is to hide the subs.

Re: Power Wire
I ran my 0-ga. on the passenger side, but i drilled a hole just a lil bit bigger than the wire with a speed bit. Then i bought a grommet from autozone, stuck it over the wire and was done wit it. No Worries!!
There is a grommet u can use on the drivers side if u dont mind running it over the motor or along the fire wall!

Re: Power Wire
0-g wire is the way to go. You need as little resistance to the amp as you can get. However, my way costs $0.00. My power wire was old jumper cables, the yellow ones (good kind), that red wire in the pix was used for a few minutes, and then trashed shortly after cuz it sucked. The tools i already had, and i had to use a lil more grief removing and replacing the fender, but i think its well worth it.
My car is also AC equipped, and all my firewall grommets are THOUROUGHLY employed, so the antenna grommet was the natural choice for me. I also tried to run it through the wires block below the antenna grommet, but i couldnt manage to get that thing off.

Re: Power Wire
Yea I have a/c also but i drilled right next 2 it! the wire didnt cost me anything because my frend owns a car audio shop near my house so all my wires for the most part have been upgraded. my amps are also in the same place but i had to delete the spare. My kicker 1200@1 wouldnt fit wit the tire and neither would my kicker zr460 4 ch amp.
