what "lil more" are you exactly trying to get... more definition. bass. just plain loud sound?

the difference in channels is how many speakers you can run on that amp independantly.. ie 2channel = left chanel and right
4channel = Left Front Right front, lft rear right rear

Louder? Good night man, toss some sound deadener in there to dampen the outside noise. No sense in losing your hearing just to listen to music.

As for quality loud sound, you need some good speakers (not sure what models your Pioneers are) and a good 4 channel amp. Head units make a difference in sound quality as well.

2 channel amp: 2 channels... can drive two speakers or one when bridged (on certain amps)
4 channel amp: 4 channels, same idea as above
Mono amp: used for subs, single channel

Yea... basically I'd get a good 4 channel... search here to find out whats good.

you will need better speakers, and IMO i don't prefer Pioneer for their speakers....

I suggest MB quart, Infinity, etc..... also a good H/U if you odnt have one

should i use this amp?

heres the amp i found

Buy the Pioneer 4-Channel Amplifier (GM6200F) and other Car Amplifiers at circuitcity.com

Anybody got a link for some 4x6 and 6x9 speakers that can handle this amp? The speakers i have in the front are pioneer 120w 3 way and in the rear i have 300w 3 way 6x9's. Can the speakers i have handle this amp? Also the pionner head unit i have has mosfet 50w x 4.

I was in your shoes last year and I did exactly what most are saying. 4 channel amp is the way to go. my JL 4300e was pricy but is an awsome amp and the quality difference from my alpine head unit was amazing. Ive got alpine type S speakers all around and although not top of the line, I will never replace em. A good amp and speakers will beat any 1000$ bose systems you find in Cadilacs ( I work on em, i know).

Also, whats great about a 4 channel is that if u ever decide you want to try on a little bass (even a small sub will make a world of difference), you can simply bridge 2 of 4 channels and have both amplified speakers and a subwoofer. I listen to rock music too, and bass will send chills own your spine when your playing your favorite songs.

If you want crisp clear and loud, buy a GOOD amp, dont get a 150-200$ amp. If your gonna get one, pay a litte more and youll never regret it. If you absolutely want pioneer, go with their premier series http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...600357,00.html

Dont be fooled by Watt numbers. Compare Sony with Alpine watt for watt and its like comparing chocolate to poo.

I don't know too much about Pioneer's amps, but it looks ok to me. Kenwood and US Acoustics are decent amps for the money. Alpine is better. You might also want to check out the Kenwood KAC-8402. Your speakers are 120W Max and 300W Max. You need to know the continuous rated power (RMS). Your Pioneer HU should be fine, but for an amp you'll want to make sure it has preamp outs (you don't connect your amp to the speaker line).

STOP looking at Pioneer amps, you can do much better. I love Pioneer HU, but there are much better for amps and speakers.
What kind of budget are you working with?
And what model# Pioneer HU do you have?

Profile amps are rather good and dirt cheap if you get them factory refurbished at their online store

Agreed.... also I don't think anyone hit on this subject but I would suggest either choosing an amp that will help you get the most out of your current speakers or if you will be upgrading the speaks...

Choose new speakers first then choose an amp. At least that's what I do and it makes life a lot easier.

No need to do a new post my friend.

For a amp i found a rockford fosgate punch p4004 amp. Will all these parts work in my iroc and will that amp be good for the speakers i picked?
Go to Crutchfield.com and see if the speakers fit your car. The Kappa's are nice, but you need to note that both sets of speakers are 2-ohm speakers, so you need an amp that does 2-ohm which the Punch does (100W x 4 @ 2 ohms). Your 4x6's are rated @ 60W (180W peak) while your 6x9's rate in at 110 RMS (330W max). I would say you might be ok with pumping 100W to your 4x6s, but I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure what they'd do after time. Maybe some of the others can chime in.

Just as a personal preference, I wouldn't go with the infinity Kappa's. I had a set of Kappa's one of my old cars and I ended up switching them out with a set of alpine speakers and the alpines sounded a lot better than the kappa's. They were being run off of an MTX 5400x at the time. I believe the alpines would be a little cheaper than the kappa's as well to save you a little money. This is just my perference on speakers so you dont have to go with them or not.

I put a pioneer amp at the max rating of my pioneer 3 ways (same size as yours) in my old formula a few years back and I honestly didn't notice much of a difference except my 4x6 distorted from being over powered and I ended up blowing one. This was about 6 years ago though and the pioneer speakers have gotten a bit better since, but as most people have already said you should probably start looking at some better speakers and a better amp than pioneer if you want better sound. You get what you pay for is generally true with car audio, though there are some deals and ripoffs to be found.

Why not go with a single sub and keep the rest powered off the head unit? If you go with a decent single sub in a sealed box and a good amp you can always turn the bass down if its too much, and it will give you a much fuller sound.

You should run a 8''s bazooka tube not too much bass in it but it deepens up the sound. My uncle has one he is 65yrs old and loves it. He got lucky and found it a shoping cart at the walmart parking lot.

Hmm maybe I'll get lucky and find a 2006 Corvette ZO6 in the wal-mart parking lot, wahaha.

For the price of a bazooka tube you could get a much better sub/amp (try ebay or refurb sites) and build your own box or get a cheap premade for less than a bazooka tube. It would also sound 100 times better and you have the freedom then to tune it how you want.
