Fitment Question

I'm lookin to upgrade my factory Bose headunit to an aftermarket one and although I won't be buying from them, I have been browsing Crutchfield and some of the head units say "Will not Fit." But I have read on here that these same head units have been used before...is it because the head units won't work with the Bose system or somethin else?

All depends on how creative you are. Basically a half din, which is standard, will fit right in with a mounting kit like a metra #99-4544. If you desire to fit a double din, you can with a bit of customization. But you will have to hack up your dash bezel to do so.
Our stereos are din and a half. The description doesn't do it justice since they are wider than the standard din size.

The standard is DIN. You'll need a dash mount kit and wire harness. The dash kit will make the HU stick out about 1.5". You can get some ABS sheets and make a flush mount if you like, but you'll need to cut the vents behind the radio, no big thing. I'm not to farmilyar with the Bose stuff but from what I remember your wire harness will be different then most because you have Bose. It's more like a harness/addaptor. Unless you just want to run new wires to the speaker and totally bypass all the Bose things. But if you do this you'll need to check the speakers. I think some of the Bose systems used real low resistance speakers, like 2 or 1 ohm. The new HU will not like that.
