I just bought a pair of 12" L7's. I've actually never heard anything bad about Kicker; which is one reason why I buy almost all exclusively Kicker products. Just make certain that sub is mounted in a box that conforms to spec. If you mount it in a box that is really too large, the cone won't be damped as much as it is designed for and the sub could be damaged. If you're hearing that these have problems, I'd bet that it was improper installation.
As for the combo, it will work, but I don't believe it will at 1 Ohm. I believe that amp is only 2 Ohm stable. I pulled these specs off the internet:
Power @ 12.5 VDC:
2 ohm 1000w x 1
4 ohm 500w x 1
Power @ 14.5 VDC:
2 ohm 1500w x 1
4 ohm 850w x 1
If you wire all the voice coild in parallel, you'll get 0.5 Ohms. To get the proper 2 Ohm impedance, wire each voice coil on the same sub in series for a total impedance per sub of 4 Ohms and then wir the two subs in parallel for a total of 2 Ohms.

well yeah i figured it was a poor install that cuased the problems from the two i heard from...my box is about 3 cubic feet or 1.5 per sub - the sub displacement. but that amp is very underated i had the gain less than half way up and it was runnin 3 mtx 8000 12s to full excursion and ive personally seen it puss 6 12s no problem and a friend had this same amp runnin at less than 1 ohm just fine but thanx for the imput ill probably have these in a few weeks, but ill have to build a new lid and center divider for my box....lid wont be a problem but divider will suck due to the shape of the rear well and how my box conforms to it to use all the space i can effectivly.

Sounds good. The subs come with a guide with some box plans & guidelines. IIRC, the min/max box volume is 0.88 - 2.0 cubic feet. As long as the box is sound and the amp does not drive a clipped signal through the subs, you'll be fine.
