Dynamat questions?
My friends camaro needs dynamat bad, everything rattles and sound like crap. Is there any alternative rather then using dynamat? The stuff is so expensive and looking for a cheaper idea. I heard ice and water barrier works the same? Thanks guys

try tracking down the rattles. when i added the necessary support like sub frame connectors and replaced some of the worn out bushings. things that are common with the car rattling the car was fine with carpet in. the dynomat made a huge difference over road/engine noise and help with rattles with the stereo up though. all the way up with the doors open or closed the car doesn't rattle one bit, even the license plate. i used extreme on everything though.

I just turn up my stereo and listen for the plastic pieces rattling on the inside... then I stuff a paper towel behind it... problem solved..
although my hatch motor assembly is vibrating a lot, even when driving... as well as the metal locking rods in the doors.... gotta add some extra support/padding in those areas...

I did this on my fourth gen in the back area haven't gotten up to the front yet. Not as heavy as dynomat. The sound deadeng is fairly good, it wasn't done for insulating purposes it's a heavy dense foam with a sticky back and it's approcimately $11.00 a roll at Lowe's. It took a lot of the road noise and rattles out of the back end of the car, and the resonance that you get with aftermarket exhaust is alot quieter also.
