Either way you go it should be a good sub. One thing to mention is RE, maker of the XXX, doesn't ship any specs with the sub... at least they didn't use to. Which can be a pita calling to figure out stuff.

As for power:
I can hold around a 14.4 idling with the stereo off. Once I start bumping it quickly goes south to 13.x... eventually further to 12.x down to 11.x. (That's with a dual battery setup too.) Course that 2 bp1200.1s and the rest of the car off the 105 amp alt (overdriven). When I eventually upgrade the alternator I plan on going with an Iraggi, since they make some that put out 160 amps at idle.

or you could pay 1/4 the price, get a powermaster 140, and put a new pulley on it... and have the same output.

powermaster makes 160/200+ as well, right?

the powermaster that puts out 105 amps at idle, and 160 max was like $150

for the price I wonder if there is a better alternator?

I don't think Powermaster makes that high [160+] of alternator for our cars. They also don't recommend you exceed the 3:1 pulley ratio due to added heat that can damage the alternator.

As for the Iraggi price that includes some features other than just the alternator. They'll give you some store credit if you get rid of the car and want to exchange their alternator out for a different model like going from a GM to Ford. For $100 more you can get a lifetime warranty (amputator line). Basically it (amputator line) should be covered for a year without the lifetime on a free replacement due to defect, but if it happens to expire after that it's 1 more free replacement then for every one after that it's $100 for a new one.

The price isn't really $400 either for the cheapest. The cheapest one is: 220 amps@max and 130 amps@idle $249.00 (+$49 for the year warranty due to it being from the dominator line). If you wanted to go into the serious idle output you'll need the amputator line which the cheapest is: 220 amps@max 175 amps@idle $339.00 (1 year included)

As for the GP if you're talking about the one I posted on our boards pointing towards that post it should have expired last month or the month before. Iraggi has been having some slow business so they decided to try to boost it up.

does anyone kno anythyng bout the runoff company of adire audio called ascendandt audio. they seem pretty legit and their stuff isnt all to expensive.

i dont know much about the atlas, but i've heard good things about them. the avalanches are really nice for the money. i basically flipped a coin between the avalanches and the soundsplinter rl-p's when i got my subs. the avalanches are only 200 now, and there is a month or so backorder on them. normally they're 280 but theres a clearance on all their old style avalanches and atlases, in the next month or two they're going to a newer motor that is supposed to be more efficient. i believe they need a bit bigger of a box to be ideal, as opposed to the rl-p. im building a box to the specs of the box in the sticky, should have about 1.2 cubic feet per speaker, and i'll throw a little polyfill in to keep on the safe side. dont quote me, but i believe the avalanches prefer 1.4 or so. both very nice subs though.

the company doesnt have anything to do with adire though. both companies use the XBL^2 motor for their subs, but apparently someone from adire posted something on a forum, and pissed off the owners of ascendant, which is the reason they're going to a new motor, and why you can get a really nice speaker for so cheap right now. (i paid 215 for my rl-ps )

well wats with there quality(avalanche) compared to adire brahmas. is it a steal for their price or wat? it just almost seems to good to be true.

Basically if you can afford the Brahmas, get them, you won't be disappointed. As for the Avalanche, I don't know of them personally, but I bet if they use the same motor then they will perform similarly.

if it's a great deal cheaper, and you want to save the money, just go with the Ascendent stuff.

i wouldnt be able to tell you how a brahma would compare to an avalanche. im sure it would be louder, but i highly doubt it would be loud enough to justify costing twice as much. you're talking about getting 1 15 right? can't really fit 2 15's in an ideal enclosure in a 3rd gen and keep your back seat, but i think 2 12's sounds better than a 15. if you have the power to run them, i'd consider going with 2 12's.
