Kick-panel speaker mounts, for sale?
Ok, a few have asked me to make them kick-panel-speaker-enclosures like the ones in my Camaro, so I'm looking into doing these.
I want to know if those of you who have stick cars (like mine) are willing to cut the metal behind their kicks so they can be somewhat flush-mounted, allowing more foot-room. This is my plan as even with flat-mounting my Kappa 50.5's (2-1/16" depth) I still don't care for the footwell intrusion. Here is the current set-up, as flat as possible without cutting metal...

Hey man!
I like that tweeter mount a little better than the ones you sold to me. Just so you know, I cut out some of the plastic part of the kick panel in the back towards the front of the car to let them have more air. Those Infinity's didn't like it too much in a totally enclosed super-small space because of the high Q on the woofers (I'm guessing cause it's not in the manual).... I still couldn't be happier, and they sound better than ever!

Im interested. I dont mind cutting the sheet metal, but I would like to see the speakers angled towards the passengers a little more. Have you made any more progress on this?

Some people say you don't necessarily want the woofers/tweeters pointing at your face.
When you are in your house, do you always sit where every speaker is pointing right at your face? I sure don't... I rely on the off-axis sound reproduction... if you don't have good off-axis... then you have to make sure your head is always in the "sweet spot." It's rather annoying in my friends Ford Ranger with Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1s where he did that with the tweeters... arg... annoying.
