Radio internal schematics, the guts
Can someone tell me where to find OEM radio schematics for a third gen? No, not the car wiring schematics, I know better than to ask for those. I want the actual schematics of the radio guts.

Needaz,
No problem with the unit, I want to add a line in for my mp3 player and a line out for a home built amp. I know the usual advice is to dump the stock units but this is a low buck commute beater, I don't lock it, and I don't want to spend any money on the sound system.
I don't like the line in adaptors for the casette player.
I can probably hack around in there and find a good spot without a schematic but with the schematic it will be a lot easier.

No chance on that man, I tried already.. AC Delco has a 'tight lid' on that stuff.. even for the ones that are dis-continued.. which I think is BS.. but nothing I can do... I wanted to swap out the CD mech. for a modern one.. but with out knowing the pin out.. I'm stuck to guessing. Not the best thing to do....

It may be a PITA, but have you considered dumping it in after the tape head amp. I haven’t worked on one in a long time, but if I remember right, they used a fairly common head amp IC. Run the part number though Yahoo and you my be able to find a data sheet, that’ll get you the pin out. I’d hit it at the output. The input side of thing is there would probably noisy as all h3ll and most have an internal compensation for the non-liner gain of the heads. But get the output and that shouldn’t be a problem. It would take some tinkering, but knowledge and time should be able to get it worked out. You would have to have a dead tape to pop in when you wanted you use that input. I remember they didn’t used EVTC ICs in them. Just that g0d awful slide switch.
Like I said a PITA, but doable.
