Power-Issues
Currently, all i have is stock speakers, but an aftermarket JVC deck that came with the car... strange thing though, is... when its on my voltmeter will move as in fluctuate to the beat of the music... what could be causing this? anyone have any idea? I'm hopeless when it comes to electrical.

I'm assuming it's the one built-in to the dash? and in that case, I'd go ahead and say that your deck either has a bad ground, or a bad power connection... check and see, but a lot of these newer decks actually need another power connection other than the one that comes through the harness.

well you'd know if it was heating, because you could easily try using the radio when the car and deck are both cold... does it still bounce?

well, my car has recently had an overheating problem, in which my left fan got melted to the housing.... so after i replaced it, i only had overheating problems w/ the radio on, not too sure, but it seems like the stereo prevents the fans from fully being effective. but yes, it always bounces.

yes you will have to take it out, and it should be the black wire on the harness...
I can't remember, but the yellow is the main power? I think there are two power inputs from the harness but now its been so long.

Yellow is the constant hot to store radio presets, your clock, and various settings. Black is ground and red is hot from the ignition.

oh yeah that's right... but some radios even require a thicker guage power input that is separate from the harness... e.g. a lot of bluapunkt units require this
