Just wondering what you guys thought of this amp. It looks good and everything, but I can't find a freaking review on it anywhere. What do you guys think?
Heres a link to it, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=12790

Been finding that out at other places too.. Oh well.

What amp do you guys recomend for 2 Alpine SWR10's? I'd like to go with a 1000watts or more. I don't want a top of the line amp, mainly because I am not entering any comps and I just can't afford one. I just want something that sounds good around $250-300ish range.

hifonics brutus

visonik 900xd

tsunami 1100d (if you can find one)

avionixx - has various models fitting your needs

clarion - has a new 1000 watt amp

yep definately another good one.

You really have alot of choices, people quite often are expecting 1000 watts for $150 bucks and well its not going to be so easy. But in your case your price range is right on, if you decide on one or find anotrher you need an opinion on let us know

Always heard good things about JBL, might have to go check that one out.
It should be able to power the Alpine 10in TypeR's decently

I own 2 JBL 1200.1s and I must say they are really nice. I did a ton of research on them before I bought the pair. I read a crap load of reviews some of the comments included amps shorting out and blowing the fuses. Also heard they can shut down if they get to hot. I have mine mounted in my hatch in direct line of sunlight and even on the 100+ degree summer days they still worked perfectly even though the diecast containers got a little hot it didn't seem to effect the amps at all.

From what I've read the 1200.1's can put off around 1300 watts. The nice feature about them I love is that they put off the same watts at 1 ohm as they do at 2 ohm. So that gives you even more ways you can wire up the subs.

OH I forgot to add since JBL came out with that new redesign for this year you can buy the 1200.1's for around 200 bucks on ebay used.

Here's a link... not saying to get this one, but you can find similiar ones or even brand new ones on there for around 250 shipped.

How does it compare to the JBL price/performance wise? That JBL sounds like an awsome deal...
I dunno, I just want the best for my money ...without spending everything on the amp alone...I got subs and and a box to get yet

Nate -

Edit - If I went with the JBL, what would be a good cap. to get for it? I read somewhere at least a 1.0 cap. So I was thinking to get a 1.5
Absolute CAPD120 just to play it safe. Any ideas?

Pretty much caps are a bandaid to cover up a problem.

I'm running 1.0 farad caps (bought on sale cheap). I still have amp clipping due to lack of power even though 2 batteries and 2 caps. The JBL 1200.1 draws a little power I think it has (3) 40 fuses or (3) 45. I forget anyways... just slapping on a cap probably won't help out that much. Best thing to do IMHO is run new wiring from the alternator to battery and upgrade the ground straps so you know you have good clean connections there. Make sure you run good wiring from the battery back to where the amp is mounted and run good size wiring from the amp to subs. Then if you still have problem look into a higher output alternator. I doubt you have problems after you upgrade the wiring though. I still haven't even upgraded mine because I was to lazy to do it before the motor swap since I'll have all new intake, mounts, valve covers and I didn't want to make my wiring to short or to long.

That is a sweet amp, I’m working on one right now. They use the TriPath TA0102a Class-T driver. Vary neat little package, Vary efficient driver. Nice amp!

im no historian but to make it short, its good stuff.
