Hey a friend offered me this deck for 50 bucks. Its used, but only for like 2 weeks. She doesn't need it anymore, and gave me this offer. Good buy, bad buy?

depends on how you are going to use it. if you plan on using subs then i would grab a better headunit. if its just to hear music and you dont really care then i would say it is OK. personally love my pioneer but mine is also a few steps ahead of that one.

Well, I won't use subs for some time. By then I would want a better head unit anyway.

I might get some infinity speakers in the front and rear soon though.

But for the money, how is it.

this post is a little old but i just bought one of these new and I think it sounds great. no mute button on it tho for quick muting unless u shut it off. the equalizer is only 3band but it works pretty well. overall i like it.

it is the lowest cd player that pioneer makes right now..... it is a cd player and will play your cd's but will not sound amazing like some others that you might buy, but for $50 if you dont have one it is a cheap upgrade...

I had the DEH-1500 for my first ever cd player, simple to use. Never skips, had 2 12's hooked up to her. Seemed fine to me. The only thing I never liked about it was it sticks out too much, and there is no dimmer and the blue light will burn your brain. Other than the fatness and brightness, I give it a thumbs up

I've had it for a month or two now I would guess. I'm very happy with it.

I bought a Scosche stereo install kit(part # GM1516) and the only thing holding back the stereo from being flush is the factory metal plate. I might cut that off or bend it back. But for now, its ok.

The face is a bit bright at night and their is no provision for hooking it up to the factory dimmer. You get used to it in a day though. My friend pointed out to me that the windsheild reflects the radio.

I've blown my right rear speaker, so I asked for speakers for x-max, but didn't get any. I'll wait a bit more until I have some leftover cash.

It's a very nice headunit for the money.

I don't know if this is true but I've heard with some other headunits that are a bit more expensive that you pay for the features, not for the quality, or sound.

I used to have one like that but after a while the CD player clicked when loading a disc and after a while it wouldn't accept them at all.
