hey man, how do you mean?
howdy,
how do you mean fire down, like they are in the box shooting down into the well or something or a regular box shooting up with the subs upsidedown (magnets in the air)
the first wouldnt matter to much id recomend against it cause it wouldnt be as loud, but you could try it and wouldnt hurt a thing
the second is just the same as mounting the normal its done mostly for decrative purposes and puts the sub in more peril unless you dont ever put anything near them
hope that helps

If your refering to firing your subs down into the smaller hatch area dont do that please. Your probably looking at something like pat21spe's set up, https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...readid=180825, which i think is total bs. he says it bouces off the glass less and doesent rattle as much, well thats just because hes lettin his mufflers listen to his music more than he is. fire it up or up and back.

There is a 16 db gain (for smaller subs) by having them aimed at the hatch glass or a 12 db gain for facing them forward.
Wonder where I got this from?
Concept's basic db formula for small subs
It doesn't work to well with larger subs... hehe I plugged in my 2 18" VRs and only got a total 147.8 db with error of +/- 3 db.

subz
the gain for back fireing min is 3-5 and max 8-12db.
a sub is a non directonal speaker if you have it pointed at you or under you're couch it'll sound the same. remember that 60% of the sound a sub produces comes out the back so yes louder but not as hard. (the box resonating) gives it that deep clean sound.
but wire it up backwords if mag is out.
