Fatmat Sound Deadener
Has anyone tried this as an alternative to Dynamat, etc.? I'm curious on its quality.

Haven't tried that and honestly never even heard of it.
If you want a recomendataion, one of the best brands out there currently is RAAMmat from http://www.raamaudio.com/
I have dealt with Rick on a few occasions and his product is as good or better than most of the "big name" brands. And at the price, it's hard to beat.
Just my humble experienced opinion
