anyone heard of soundstorm amps?

I have on ein my Formula and one in the 78 TA. They play real clean and loud. I'm happy with mine. And I guarantee that without checking the trunk, nobody would be able to tell its a $100 eBay amp!

i hope hawk is talking about soundstream and not sound storm. sound storm is just meant to be a cheap imitator name for crappy equipment, like rockwood.

Soundstream RULES--trust me. I can name at least 12 people off the top of my head that have Soundstream amps/subs and all are happy with their stuff.
If you can still find this stuff BUY IT NOW, soundstream was bought out a little while ago so supplies are obviously dwindling.

(laughs) Yeah, soundstorm does sound like a knock-off of Soundstream.
Soundstream was picked up by (I believe) power acoustic. The "original" rubicon amps are the hot ticket; the Rubicon 2's are the "new" cheaper versions.
I have a Rubicon 204 (old version) and that thing is amazing. Packs a hell of a punch for such a little guy. If I could only find a 404 or 604 for a price I can afford... (sigh) Too many "dreams" for the car this year. Can't justify spending any $$ on car audio to myself; things like an engine rebuild, suspension rebuild, and paint job are more important.

I had a SoundStorm Laboratories (the full name) 4-channel amp in my parts car before it got hit. The stupid thing would always shut off after a little while. 2-ohm stable my ***.
For the money, though, their speakers aren't that bad, just lacking in good mid-bass range. They're really cheap, and good for a temporary setup.
Their CD-player headunits suck. They skip every chance they get. Worse than Aiwa. Stay away.
[EDIT] This company has been around for quite a while, based in Cali somewhere. Personally, I heard their name before I heard Soundstream, so I can't really say who's knocking off who. And supposedly, they fixed the "skipping CD player" problem with their newest headunit. Your best bet is try them out yourself.
