JVC cd player problems
I have JVC KD-LX30 and after like 30-45mins of use it will skip a couple times, then just stop playing the cd at all. The cd player works fine when its cold, its just when it gets warmed up. Is this a wiring problem, or is it time for a new head unit? BTW, I've already used a cleaner.

1: Never use a cleaning disk!!!!
2: Sounds like the optical pickup is getting weak. A good shop would probably charge $100-$150 to fix it.

I had the KD-LX30 too i sold it. It skiped alittle too much if i hit bumps,,,id say your lazer is off. I think our cars let the deck heat up too much cause mine wouldnt spit out the cd if it was hot....and it would sratch them on the edge if they werent coming out.

new digifine series of JVC is the only thing i'll buy of theirs. as bad as some of their other stuff is, you cant beat some of these decks (sh909 is spectacular)

Yup. I wouldn't touch JVC, except for their digifine stuff, although that seems to be going toward the "bling" just like Sony did. I bought an SH909 a few months ago and I can't wait to install it. I've got the matching DVD player too. Other than their digifine stuff, we used to get a ton of warranty and repair stuff from them, although nowhere near as much as we got from Sony's Xplod junk.
But... the JVC decks are so inexpensive and packed full of features, that you can almost consider them like a disposable item. Buy it, and consider any time after the end of the warranty to be free bonus time. If it breaks, throw it away and buy another cheap one.
I was going to say "or buy a good one once" but in my experience, the reliability of ALL decks has taken a very sharp decline since they started packing them so full of stupid useless features.
