its an amp and no i havent had any overheating problems in fact i haven't had any problems at all with any part of the system

How do they sound? Since theres not really a "box" for them does the board you have the subs in seal fairly tight to the empty well? Looks good.

sounds awesome they actually hit a lot harder than i thought they would i tryed to close off the bottom that would be in the bottom part of the "hole" but it didn't sound as loud as it did open the sides are closed in ao it seals it pretty good i also laid down a pretty thick layer of that egg carton foam between the carpet and the pad that gave it a little sound and the all important polyester fiberfill(pillowstuffing) under the subs

Looks good. Im not to impressed by the carpeting job. But It matches the hatch perfectly, it just needs to be pulled and straightened out a little bit. Also I am very impressed that the box that you have and those subs, they hit hard. To me it kinda seems like that it an open-air box and from what I have heard there is only a few companies that made open-air subs.

good that makes two of us cause im not impressed by the way i did the carpet it doesn't match the carpet thats in the car cause thats faded i'm going to redo the intero\ior with black carpet and thas when i'll fix the stuff on the box it is basically open air the box affect is from the hole
