my amp can do just about any configuration and ohms, just not sure how it all works. but wanna make sure im not making a mistake, on wiring or if what I want will work.

ok I added my amp/speaker info below, Im gonna run 1 12 DVC and 2 6x9s, can you give me a clue on some wiring. I really dont want 2 subs, like i got room for 2 anyways.

Of course I have no idea what im doing

screw the DVc , they are cool in all but i want 1 sub and just 1 amp, so it gonna be a single 15, I know somewhere in that info will tell me the general box size needed, and if it should be sealed or not.

anywho got a clue???

You can do this with a SVC sub and two regular speakers.

Just make sure you don't follow that wiring diagram exactly. For instance...... your amp may be L+ / R- to bridge it..... but that'll give you the general idea.

Then you can also do this...... it's a little more complicated, but it'll allow you to run a DVC sub.

You'll need 4 high-pass (aka capacitors), and 2 low-pass filters (aka inductors or coils). If you get that amp and need to know what high and low pass filters to use, the amp company should be able to tell you IF they don't already have it in the Owners/Installation Manual.

I dunno. I found her on the web somewhere.

I want my wife to pose next to my car, but she hasn't yet. She's not opposed to it, but she's not anxious either. She's a lot prettier than she thinks she is. You know... the typical woman syndrome. They can be 5'6" tall, weigh 110 lbs. and say "I'm fat".

I'm hoping this gives her an incentive to make her do it.

Hey thanks that helps a bit, but look at my pic. not sure how I would route the wires through the DVC on the one side bridged.

I dunno...... I myself like 4 ohm SVC subs. There just seems to be less moving parts to break.

DVC are more versitle for upgrading later. I guess it depends on what you plan to do later.

Here's another pic on how to hook up a DVC sub that has two 4 ohm voice coils.

The only drawback I see here is that you'll be presenting an 8 ohm load bridged (i.e., same as 4 ohms on each of the two channels of the amp.) This won't give you any extra power to the sub. It's when you bridge an amp into one 4 ohm voice coil that you reap the benefits of more power.

Ok so if i go by your first pic, ill end up with 4 ohms, not quiet clear on the wiring there.

you saying or showing in the first pic to only hook up the amp to 1 of the voice coils on the sub and leave the other side unhooked???

could you draw out the 4 ohm one and show all 4 post on the sub???
-------

I would rather go with a single 12in DVC sub than going to a 15, I would need to build a box for the 15.

Doing the above would be no different than doing this (which you can do to and it's a lot simpler.)

If you choose to do it this way..... MAKE SURE THE CROSSOVER IS ON!!!!!!! If not, the two coils could (actually will) get different signals and try and make the sub to two different things at once.

If anything, just to be safe I'd hook it up like the picture above. Or you can save a lot of hassle and just buy a SVC 4 ohm sub.

No...... the first pic (attached) is a SVC 4 ohm sub. I guess I should label the pics huh?
