OK I know nothing about stereo's and I have a chance to buy 2 Jensen Sub's, not sure what type or even size but they are 10's or 12's, and a Bose 500W Amp for $250 Canadian, and supposedly they are worth over $1000, oh yeah they were only used for like an hour too, so they are pretty new.

Most likly that amp is a Boss not a Bose. check and see because those are to completly different companys. Im not even sure that bose make aftermarket amps come to think of it. Anyway if its a Boss amp and 2 jensen subs it's not worth 1000 let alone 250 used IMO.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Boss is not a good amp manufacturer, and Jensen -- though they seem to be striving for respectibility now -- still have a long way to go before they can measure up to the competition.
If everything was brand new, then maybe it would be worth considering if you didn't mind a sub-par system. It would still be an upgrade over your stock system, so it's not useless. But Boss amps aren't known for their longevity any more than they are for their performance. It would suck to buy it only to have it break down without a warranty.
But whoever told you that those components cost over $1000 is lying to you. The amp is the definition of cheap, and the subs aren't a great deal better. That should set off alarm bells in the first place.

i disagree.... jensen is a very reliable brand. if not pushed too hard with an over abundance of power they will work great. they were my first set of subs.. the dual 10's in the sealed bandpass.. they were excellent subs... infinity refference.... if your smart, you can snag a brand new pair of infinities on e-bay for 25 bucks each.. thats what i did.. now i have a set of perfects

dont but boss. you will be happy for a few weeks, but them you will hear someone else's car and be totally diappointed. go listen to some other people's cars and find out what they are running. many of the high schoolers have decent cheap systems in their cars, so what would be a good place to start. look into mtx or kicker or even lanzar, which from what i have read have earned some respect from people lately. good luck
