single amp systems
I was just wondering, is it possible to use one four channel amp to run to run all the speakers in my camaro? The speakers i'm going to hook up are 4x6, 6x9's, and one ten inch bazooka. The only reason I'm doing this is to keep things simple. How will the music sound if I hook up the above speakers to the deck and the ten to a 150 rms watt bridged amp? I used to have a four channel 35x4 amp running the 4x6's and the 6x9's. Running the bazooka I had a 50x2 watt amp bridged at 150 rms. Since, I want the system to be simple, I was just wondering if any of you out there are running your set up's in the way I described above and how they sound?
Thanks,
Gerry

Yes, you can use a five channel amp. Just for example, we make a Kicker KX700.5. It is rated at 75x4 up front, for the 4x6 and 6x9's and then a Class D 400 watt sub amp for the subs.It also comes with a remote gain for the sub channel, and has built in fans for cooling.
But there are plenty good five channel amps out there, so look around and see what you like.

If you could tune each channel and it was 2 ohm stable you could run the 6X9s and 4X6s off of two channels and bridge the back two channels for the sub. You'd have to go high on the front and low and the back obviously. If you get an active crossover you could go full range on all channels and then filter the signal.

Do this:
1-Get some component speakers in the front, run the front speakers off two channels and bridge the sub (assuming your amp is bridgeable). Run the rear speakers off the HU
OR
2-Run the rear speakers and sub off the amp and the front speakers off the HU.
Otherwise, invest in a 5-channel or a second amp.

if the amps is 2 ohm stable in stereo, then wire up the front channels to the 4x6's and 6x9's in parallel giving the amp a 2 ohm load in the front usually doubling the power output of the front channels, but then splitting the power between the the speakers on each side, then bridge the rear channel for the sub, and your set.
