Dynamat and alternatives

Hey guys whats up. My friends got an xtreme and we want to put dynamat or an alternative behind the door panels to stop rattles. Can someone tell me where we can get the stuff for cheap or any alternatives that are just as good. Thanks.

dynamat is waaaay to expensive. go to home depot/lowes/etc and pick up some stuff called "peel and seal". its either in the roofing section or the skylight section. its the same exact stuff as dynamat and goes for about a buck a foot (sold in 12.5 sq ft rolls for about $12-15). another, if you need a big supply, is RAAMmat. sold on ebay sometimes, as good or better than dynamat extreme and costs about $1/ft too. i used the peal and seel stuff and was pleased with the results

ditto to the raam. for a sale on it, go here:

If you just don't like buying from ebay (although he is VERY trustworthy) check out www.b-quiet.com
I used their Brown Bread in my car, it works great! It sticks REALLY well too. Its a tad more expensive than Raammat, but still WAY cheaper than dynamat.

I also just ordered their (b-quiet) liquid deadener, it will prob be a week or so before I will apply it, but can let ya know how it turns out.

does dynamat (or any of that kind of stuff) really make that big of a difference? i've heard "yes" and "no" but i never bothered with it because it is so expensive. i had rattles (before my system got jacked.........twice) but i never went for that dampening stuff. so, worth it or not?

I say that it does make a difference. The only thing I see people get in trouble with is that they expect it to be a miracle rattle stopper. You could put a ton on dynamat down but if you still have loose panels buzzing against each other or metal on metal that rattles you need to target these contact points to cure the problem. I know a guy who was pissed at a stereo shop because they put dynamat in his trunk and it didn't stop all the rattles in his car. I wanted to hit him over the head.
